Having an idea to write a book is often the easiest part of book writing. Getting to a complete manuscript can be a challenging task. Writing is often a solitary exercise. When you write, you work alone. Feelings of doubt could cloud your writing, and often, words of encouragement and advice to keep moving forward are necessary. It is also not uncommon to get stuck or experience what we commonly know as writer’s block. I know how overwhelming that feeling can be. My experience of over two decades working with writers and being an author, myself has taught me that the writing life can be intensely lonely and navigating the publishing process and industry can feel like a daunting task. However, the joy of seeing never published before authors beaming with joy when their publishing projects are complete keeps me motivated to work with budding writers.
