Leaders are called to lead diligentlyFor them to be effective in their call, they are required to develop aset of skills. As leaders develop their skills, they increase their capacity to perform, leading to better results. The leaders skills refer to his or her handwork-what the leader does. A skill is the ability to use ones knowledge to do something well. Leaders’ skills involve the application of his or her knowledge to a ministry or leadership situation.

The leader may develop skills to further enhance a strength (such as preaching or leading) or to shore up a weakness. For example, your job that requires you to do administration, but youre not good at it. Thus you develop administrative skills to help make up the deficit. Leaders who are able to develop skills become an asset and add value to their teams since they give proper direction.

Aubrey suggests two categories of skills set thatleaders need to develop in their leader- ship role.These are relational and task skills. Relational skills are based on the great commandment (Read Matt.22: 36-39) while task skills are based on the great commission (Read Matt 28:19-20).

This module is made up of two parts, people skills and task skills.
